Biography

As a young boy growing up in Gisborne, birds fascinated me from a young age. My interest in photography came later when I bought my first camera as a teenager. It wasn't long before the two interests combined - now I spend a lot of time photographing New Zealand's birds.

I'm lucky enough to be based in Tekapo with my wife and enjoy the inspirational landscape and wildlife of the Mackenzie basin. I am currently working towards a PhD in Zoology through Otago University, developing new varieties of tracking devices for New Zealand birds.

I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, running, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, and of course photographing New Zealand's bird life.
